Julienne Taylor

I'm getting hooked with muzak lately and I wonder why. I like listening to songs and all, but never really got to the point of overdosing. Well, not until late. Geez. Always the late bloomer I am.

I hate going mainstream though so I'm trying to listen to some beautiful vocals without the exaggerated fame and I came to discover a Scottish treasure who answers to the name Julienne Taylor. I listened to her version of Need to be Next to You and I simply adored it...or her. I'm not a voice expert but I think Ms. Taylor's voice could pass for mellow, breathy and mysterious. I'd love to hear her when I'm lying on a hammock on any lazy afternoon. Well, she kind of makes me lazier.

Luckily, my aunt has A Time for Love, Julienne's album, so I'm planning to NOT return it to auntie, poor woman. Just to give you some heads-up of what songs are included in the album, here goes:

I don't wanna talk about it
Unbreakable
One of Us
Love Hurts
It's in the way you are
Too Much Heaven
Ever Fallen in Love
Here There and everywhere
Need to be next to you
Toybox
Why
Only when i sleep
all out of love
real
how can you mend a broken heart
your song

Maybe, just maybe, you should try listening to one of her songs, too. I tell you man, she's good.

This is It

Been to the cinema and watched Michael Jackson's eerily posthumous concert 'This is It'. It's amazing how people make big money out of a dead person, isn't it? In any case, it was a beautiful one, sorta documentary-like but I would still prefer a living MJ to perform. Yeah, I'm a very demanding spectator like that. Since I am not one hell of an expert to toot my review like any critic would, lemme just tell those who haven't seen 'This is It' to go watch it, for closure, that is, if you are a big fan of old man MJ.

Anyway, speaking of closure, it kinda hit me that I will never have the chance to see MJ in person, even if I would suddenly win some real big lottery to buy a ticket for his concert. Man, he's 6-feet under and just the thought of 'goodbye forever' sucks-hurts. Geez, I'm gettin' all sentimental here.

Incidentally, MJ's song 'She's Out of My Life' speaks of me without my ultimate idol. And so, getting all melodramatic and all, I figured I could just overdose myself with anything MJ-ish which Youtube fortunately obliged. Then I found myself watching MJ's MV of 'She's Out of My Life' and man, I tell you, no one else in this whole, entire mama earth will sing the song as heartfelt-like as MJ. 98degrees tried but...Josh Gorban tried but again...Michael Jackson is just ultimately the man for the job. If you ain't convinced, here goes:
